Listen to an AI agent pick up for a restaurant: a simulated booking, then the request it hands you
In the middle of service, nobody can answer the phone. Here is, on a simulated example, how the Natalia agent takes a booking request and what you receive. Then you create your own agent, on your own, from the console.
A booking call, simulated
An example written by Natalia to show how a call goes. It is not the recording of a real call or a real customer.
-
AI agent
Restaurant Le Comptoir, hello, this is the restaurant's AI assistant. Would you like to book a table?
-
Caller (fictional)
Yes, a table for six on Saturday evening.
-
AI agent
Saturday, for six people. What time would you like to come?
-
Caller (fictional)
Around 8:30 pm.
-
AI agent
Are there any allergies, dietary requirements or an occasion I should note?
-
Caller (fictional)
It's a birthday, and one of us avoids gluten.
-
AI agent
Noted. What name is it under, and what number can we reach you on?
-
Caller (fictional)
Dubois, 06 00 00 00 00.
-
AI agent
Thank you, Mr or Ms Dubois. I'm passing your request to the restaurant, which will confirm the booking by SMS.
Simulated call: the caller, the restaurant and the number are fictional. Your agent follows your own instructions, not this script.
What the agent collected
When the call ends, you receive the request by email, SMS or WhatsApp. The transcript and the recording stay in the console.
- Name
- Dubois
- Phone
- 06 00 00 00 00 (fictional)
- Date
- Saturday evening
- Preferred time
- 8:30 pm
- Guests
- 6
- Diet or occasion
- Birthday, one guest avoiding gluten
- Status
- Request to be confirmed by the restaurant
The agent takes the request; the restaurant confirms. The fields collected are the ones you ask for in its instructions.
What the agent does not do
- It does not guarantee a table: it passes on a booking request and you confirm according to your dining room.
- It does not replace your judgment on allergies: it notes them and passes them on, and the kitchen remains responsible.
- It does not replace your front-of-house team or your online booking tool.
Create your agent in three steps
-
1
You create the agent
From the Natalia console, with no demo needed.
-
2
You write your instructions
Greeting, days and hours, maximum party size per booking, allergy questions, number to alert.
-
3
You test it, then connect it
You call it from the console, adjust, then forward your line to the agent during service.
