AI agent voice Voice, pace and pronunciations on the phone

A voice agent's "Configurer" (Configure) tab ends with "Voix au téléphone" (Voice on the phone). Your changes join the page's bar, which counts them and offers "Annuler" (Cancel) or "Enregistrer" (Save). A text agent has no such section.

Choose the voice

"Voix" (Voice): "Écoutez les voix, puis choisissez celle de l'agent." (Listen to the voices, then choose the agent's.) The "Choisir une voix" (Choose a voice) window lists six voices under a search field, each with a play button. A new agent starts with Lucie.

Lucie, default

Attentive, professional

Claire

Natural, spontaneous

Camille

Lively, expressive

Ingrid

Warm, calm

Juliette

Bright, friendly

Clément

Calm, neutral

An older agent shows "Voix d'origine" (Original voice): it keeps its voice until you choose one from the list.

Set the pace

"Rythme" (Pace) has two sliders. Moved off its default, each one offers "Rétablir le défaut" (Restore the default).

Débit (Speech rate)

How fast the agent speaks, from 0.7 ("Plus posé", steadier) to 1.2 ("Plus vif", livelier); 1 by default. A voice you play in the list plays at the chosen rate.

Temps d'attente (Waiting time)

The silence after which the agent considers the person has finished speaking, from 0.3 s ("Répond vite", answers fast) to 3 s ("Laisse finir", lets them finish); 0.5 s by default. Longer, it interrupts less; shorter, it answers sooner.

Pronunciations

Without a pronunciation, the agent reads each word as it is written. "Ajouter une prononciation" (Add a pronunciation) adds a row: the "Mot écrit" (Written word), for example Auxerre, and how it "Se dit" (Is said), written as you would read it in French, for example Ausserre. Add one when a proper name or a brand comes out wrong on the phone.

Recording announcement

With "Prévenir en amont que l'appel est enregistré" (Warn beforehand that the call is recorded) switched on, the agent says « Cet appel est enregistré. » (This call is recorded.) when it picks up, then the recording starts and the agent says its first message. The caller cannot cut the announcement short, and it is not in the recording. A player lets you hear it in the chosen voice.

Then call it

Once your settings are saved, live mode puts you through to the agent on a real contact point: you hear its voice, its pace and its pronunciations as your customers will.
