On-Premise glossary: Alcatel and appliance terms

The terms used in the On-Premise documentation, in alphabetical order.

Appliance
Virtual machine delivered ready to run (OVA image) that holds the whole Natalia On-Premise solution: collection, storage, dashboard, MCP server.
CDR (Call Detail Record)
Accounting ticket written by the PBX for each call: date, duration, direction, extension, cost. Alcatel calls them taxation tickets.
Data disk
Second disk of the appliance (label NATALIA_DATA). Holds CDR, configuration, audit log and dumps. Kept across upgrades.
Embedded FTP
FTP server built into the Alcatel OXO, port 30021. The appliance reads accounting tickets from it in passive mode, read-only.
ftp_nmc
OXO account used to read accounting files over the embedded FTP server.
Audit log
Immutable record of sensitive actions, for example exports, license installation and PBX key re-approval.
JWT (JSON Web Token)
Signed authentication token. The appliance uses it for web interface sessions.
MCP (Model Context Protocol)
Open protocol that lets an AI client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Claude Code) query a data source. The appliance exposes a read-only MCP server.
mtcl
Standard Alcatel OXE maintenance account. The wizard suggests it for SSH collection.
netadmin
Alcatel OXE network administration tool (menus: interfaces, security, SSH).
OVA
Open Virtualization Format archive. Imported as is into VMware ESXi, Proxmox VE or Hyper-V.
OXE (OmniPCX Enterprise)
Alcatel-Lucent PBX for large sites. Collection over SSH/SCP from /usr4/account. "Enterprise PBX (model E)" in the wizard.
OXO (OmniPCX Office)
Alcatel-Lucent PBX for SMEs. Collection over embedded FTP. "Office PBX (model O)" in the wizard.
SCP (Secure Copy)
File copy over SSH. The appliance uses it to read OXE ticket files.
spadmin
Alcatel OXE license administration tool. spadmin -l lists active licenses.
Taxation over IP
Alcatel OXE license that enables external collection of accounting tickets over TCP/IP. Required for Natalia.
V24
Serial console port of the Alcatel OXE, for local administration.
vTPM
Virtual Trusted Platform Module provided by the hypervisor. A virtual machine can use it to store keys.
Wizard
First-boot assistant of the appliance, 8 screens: welcome, admin password, license, network and mode, PBX, first collection, summary, done.
